Nisha Kittan Lodge

Michigamea Chapter Meeting held March 7, 2013 in Red Bud, Illinois.

Meeting Time: 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

8 Arrowmen and 2 Adult Arrowmen were present:

Chapter Secretary: Dale H. T-662

Arrowmen: Nick Z. T-348, Hunter H. T-622, Connor F. T-622, Joshua N. T-323, Wyatt DC-343, Chase H. T-343 and Cody M. T-343.

Chapter Adviser: Michael “Pirate Mike” Kuehnle

Chapter Co-Advisers: Bryan DuClos T-343.

Meeting started at 7:00 PM with the Arrowmen doing the flag ceremony for the Round Table. Meeting started with the Arrowmen leading the Pledge of Allegiance.

The Arrowmen departed and went to a separate room.  There, they opened the meeting with the OA obligation.

The Michigamea Chapter Secretary, Dale H., then reviewed the previous month, January, Meeting Minutes.

Pirate Mike offered the chapter an idea to use the deer hoof “bone” as an award for Arrowmen who have accomplished an AOL/CO ceremony.  The Arrowmen passed a “motion” and approved stated item.

Dale H. and Connor F. then addressed the audience about upcoming Arrow of Light and Cross-over Ceremonies.  They also reviewed who can come to the next few AOL/CO ceremonies.

The Arrowmen then introduced the newer Arrowmen to each other and talked about our Michigamea Chapter and Nisha Kittan Lodge events.

Dale H. then reviewed the upcoming Native American Cultural Weekend 2013.

Upcoming Nisha Kittan Lodge Events were then discussed:

• It’s time to pay your Lodge Dues; they are $10 now through February 9^th, 2013. After that the fees will go up. You can pay your dues at the Nisha Kittan website: www.nisha-kittan.org
• The next LEC meeting is scheduled for March 14, 2013 at Shiloh’s Klucker Hall. Meeting starts at 7:00 PM and should be over by 8:30 PM. (Yes, the meeting was moved up one week.)
• The Native American Cultural Weekend is scheduled for March 15 – 17, 2013 at Camp Joy. Pirate Mike is currently looking for volunteers to help Cook and teach courses on beadwork, deer hoof bandoliers, and many other aspects of the Native American Indian life. • The Nisha Kittan lodge is now taking orders for the “OA Fleece Jacket.” If you’re interested in buying one of these awesome jackets, please go to www.nisha-kittan.org website to learn more.
• The Nisha Kittan Lodge Spring Fellowship will be held at Camp Joy on the weekend of April 12 – 14, 2013.
• The Nisha Kittan Lodge will host its future Call Out Ceremonies on the following dates:  Call Out #1 June 6^th, Call Out #2 June 13^th, Call Out #3 June 20^th, Call Out #4 July 11^th, Call Out #5 July 18^th, and Call Out #6 July 25^th.
• The Nisha Kittan lodge will be hosting the 2013 Section Conclave; it’s scheduled for September 20 – 22, 2013 at Camp Joy.
• Are you interested in going to the 2013 National Jamboree??? Would you be interested in going as a member of the Order of the Arrow? Then you need to go to the Nisha Kittan website: www.nisha-kittan.org and look up information on “Project 2013.”
• Are you interested in the BSA’s National High Adventure Camps? The OA has special programs just for you!!! You can go to Philmont New Mexico, Sea Base in Florida, or the Northern Tier for an adventure of a lifetime, At HALF the cost too.
