Vice Chief Administration
January 2013Over the past few months, every one of us has had the opportunity to work as committees, chapters, and as a lodge. David Heimann gave a moving speech that I personally was able to take a lot from at the Winter Banquet on January 5th. His speech was based on collaboration and several principles that reminded me of this LEC. Keeping Mr. Heimann’s remarks and the theme of the Winter Banquet, we need to look to the future while we respect the past. In order to respect the past, we need to overcome the failures and marvel in the successes of those who have come before us. We need to take what we learn from the past and look towards the future. We need to rethink the things that didn’t work out and improve upon those that worked out better than anyone imagined. As 2013 takes hold of the lodge, I encourage all of you to grab it right back and ask yourself, “What am I going to do to make this the best year the lodge has ever had?” Thank you for your time. November 2012Over the past month, the administration team has worked hard to keep the gears a-turning and the engine a-running in Nisha Kittan Lodge. The admin team is looking to the future to events like Winter Banquet where we are eager to support the activities committtee with the logistics and organization of the event. We are also looking forward to University of Scouting and devoting ourselves to helping out the AdHoc committee put in place to coordinate it. Membership will have a table there for people to pay their dues and the like. Also striving to help the lodge function better, we are looking to take any suggestions for improvements to current policy or new policy ideas in general. Any suggestions are welcomed at LEC meetings at Klucker Hall every third Thursday of the month. Meetings start at 7:00pm. |
| National Trails Day |
Once again this year Nisha Kittan Lodge has decided to partner with the American Hiking Society to host a National Trails Day by providing service and improvements to the Camp Vandeventer Eagle Trail. The service day will be held June 1, 2013 beginning at 9:00 AM and conclude around 3:00 PM. Participants should provide their own sack lunch and water for the day. Anyone with questions or needing additional information can contact Special Events Chairman Colton R. or his advisor Gary Williams. Please pass around our flyer and mark your calendars for this important service opportunity! |
